Northern regional communications team of the People's National Convention (PNC) is calling for a forensic audit into party's accounts.

The group is unhappy about the party's alleged missing Gh¢1.6 million meant for campaign activities in the 2012 elections.

This comes after a group calling itself Convention Forum, accused the party leadership of failing to account for the said money, two years after the elections.

Party Treasurer, David Apasera has accused its 2012 presidential candidate Hassan Ayariga of squandering some money meant for the party's polling agents – an allegation he [Ayariga] has vehemently denied.

But the PNC Northern regional Communications Director, Siedu Abdulai Napudo said the leadership must as a matter of urgency form a forensic audit committee to trace the Gh¢1.6 million.

According to him, being accountable is very critical to any political organization and the PNC is no exception.

Siedu Abdulai Napudo expressed concern about the media war and urged all party's to ceasefire.

He noted that the challenges facing PNC must be addressed by using strategies devoid of “self centered and parochial objectives”.

“It is better than the leaders insulting and calling themselves names. It doesn't augur well for the PNC,” he stressed.
