Group demands GH1.6 million from PNC leadership
04.02.2014 LISTEN

A group calling itself the Convention Forum is demanding GH¢1.6 million from the leadership of the Convention Peoples Party (PNC).

According to the group, the leadership has failed to account for the money, which was donated to the party for its 2012 campaign, a year after the elections.

Coordinator of the Convention Forum, Akani Adam in an interview with CitiNews expressed concern about the lackadaisical attitude of the leadership on the issue.

Describing the PNC's treasury as “terrible”, he noted emphatically that they won't allow such huge amounts to go down the drain.

Akani Adam said most of the party polling agents in the 2012 elections have not been paid even though provisions were made for them.

“So where did the money go? The last checks we made at the party's treasury is so abysmal; the amount of money remaining in the party's account is very terrible” he bemoaned.

Mr. Adam called on the leadership to as a matter of urgency institute an independent inquiry to find out who received the money and what it was used for.
