The Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) has commended Nutricima Limited, makers of Coast, Nunu, Olympic milk and other nutritious food drinks, for enriching lives of consumers through its products as well as the recently launched Mega Cash promo.

NSN said Nutricima stands out among others in terms of quality of products, noting that it has a rich history of providing nutritious milk products and food drinks. Chairman, Scientific Committee of NSN, Dr. Bartholomew Brai, gave this commendation on Wednesday in Lagos at the unveiling of Nutricima consumer-reward initiative tagged “Mega Cash Promo.”

Speaking on the importance of milk to the body, Mr. Brai, who represented the President NSN Mrs Ngozi Nnam, said, “Milk supplies nutrients and vitamins to the body. We all know that there is need for nursing mothers, parents, children young and old, adults and aged people to pay attention to their nutrients intake. Nutricima's range of milk products gives essential nutrients and vitamins to the body for growth and development. Nutricima has milk products like Coast and Nunuevaporated and powdered milk and Olympicmilk which are carefully made to meet the health demand of these set of people.”

He also commended the initiative of the Mega Cash Promo, saying it is like giving back to the society for the benefit of both new and existing consumers. Mr. Brai noted that Nutricima has proven that it is not only concerned about making profit but also enriching lives through the promo. “We commend the ideas and strategies put to ensure the successful reward of consumers of Nutricima in this Mega Cash promo. It is especially coming at a time when everyone needs money after spending a lot during the festive period,” he added.

According to the Managing Director, Nutricima, Mr. Suneel Vasudevan, he noted that the promo will run for three months starting from January 21st to April 22nd, 2014. Consumers stand the chances of winning millions of Naira and numerous gifts after purchasing any of Coast evaporated milk, Olympic evaporatedMilk or Nunu powder refill which has the promo label. Under the label, consumers can find a six digit Code number which is to be sent with the product serial number to 08093377802. The sender then gets an interactive voice response which informs the consumer about what he or she has won.

Instant wins in the Mega Cash Promo include N50 airtime e-top-up for thousands of consumers, cash prizes of N500 (Five Hundred Naira), N1, 000 (One Thousand Naira), N5, 000 (Five Thousand Naira) and N10, 000 (Ten Thousand Naira) each.

Aside from the instant prizes, consumers can also qualify for a monthly raffle draw where they have the opportunity to win between N50, 000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) to N1million (One Million Naira).

To redeem their cash prizes, customers are expected to go to any branch of Zenith bank with the product label and valid ID card. Cash prizes between N500 – N10, 000 will be paid over the counter, while N50, 000 – N1, 000, 000 will be transferred to winners' accounts. 15 lucky people are expected to win N1, 000, 000 each in the raffle which will hold every month of the promo duration.

Reflecting on the birth of the company, Mr. Vasudevan said Nutricima “was born out of a vision of PZ Cussons to bring international quality nutrition to Nigeria. This vision was converted to reality through a joint venture with Glanbia, a leading food ingredient company in Europe, who were keen to deliver their technical expertise for the benefit of Nigerians.

“Nutricima was incorporated in 2003 and commenced operations in 2005. The company immediately demonstrated significant business building capabilities in: Building new brands from scratch, production of World Class products. It achieved national distribution network of 26 depot stations pan Nigeria to deliver products to the door steps of consumers, producing affordable products for all the people, and it achieved backward integration in the past 2 years by sourcing milk from Shonga farms; an initiative to develop local capabilities. All of these have been achieved within a short period of 7 years,” he added.
