NPP Holland—Amsterdam Branch: Elects New Executives In The Most Transparent Election In Its History
15.01.2014 LISTEN

NPP Holland – Amsterdam Branch elected their executives last Sunday, 12 January 2014 in a keenly contested election. Results were announced by the election committee led by Mr. Adu Amankwaah.

Mr. Kwame Prempeh defeated Mr. Adanse Pipim for the Chairmanship position and was declared winner. The margins of victories were about 5% in both races for the chairmanship and Women Organiser positions. Mr. Prempeh obtained 52.3% of the valid votes casted as against 47.7% for Mr. Adanse Pipim. Mr. Prempeh owned his victory largely to the elders of the party breaking heavily for him. The incumbent Interim Chairman picked a form but did not contest.

The Vice Chairmanship position was won by Mr. Appiah Damoa, who contested against Mr. Charles Owusu Ansah. All other positions were won unopposed.

The elections started at 8 pm after all the contestants were seriously vetted by a panel of three members. The elections were free, fair and especially very transparent. Casting of votes, sorting and counting all happened in front of everyone present. The turnout was over 95% of the members who were qualified to vote. No one had the cause to complain and all losers accepted the results wholeheartedly. This was a great milestone for the Branch. NPP Holland – Amsterdam Branch counts over 100 registered members. Handing over to the new executives will take place on Sunday, 26 January 2014.
