Mr Sylvester Amoah, a businessman was on Friday elected chairman of the Chiana-Paga constituency of the National Patriotic Party.

Mr Amoah, who joined the party after resigning from the People's National Convention (PNC) about a decade ago, promised to work tirelessly to bring the NPP to power, adding that, it was the only true Democratic Party that could bring the needed development to the country

He beat the former Constituency Chairman, Mr Philip Baba Chewe to win the position.

Mr Amoah who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency said he got his support from 117 polling stations where he had strong backing from his executives and added that eight others had the nod at the constituency elections.

According to him he achieved that feat from hard work and mobilization of support from the 117 polling station representatives which he said was the largest in the constituency.

He noted that the polling stations varied in numbers ranging from 25 to 10 and appealed to all NPP supporters in the constituency to help in the campaign for the party to win the 2016 elections.

Meanwhile, NPP aspirants for regional executive positions are busy campaigning at the various constituencies to seek delegates mandate to run the affairs of the party in the region.
