Angel Group Boss Honoured

Dr. Kwaku Oteng
DR. KWAKU OTENG, the Executive Chairman of Angel Group of Companies, has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree by a renowned world body for his entrepreneurship which has left positive impact on society.

The Angel Group of Companies' Boss is the proud recipient of the 2013 'Honorary Doctor of Social Services and Development' from the Peristrofi World Honorary International Award Conference (PWHIAC).

He was honoured alongside other proud sons of Ghana whose contributions have gone a long way to impact positively on the lives of the masses at a colourful ceremony in Kumasi last week.

The PWHIAC is a renowned award which is bestowed on results-oriented and hard working people for their contribution to socio-economic development in their field of discipline.

The award is also one of the most respected prizes in the world conferred on self-made personalities with distinction in their area of endeavour.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the NPP flagbearer for 2012, was also honoured on the day.

Dr. Kwaku Oteng, from a humble beginning as a carpenter, rose by dint of hard work and dedication, to become one of the most affluent persons in the country, owning a chain of businesses.

His companies include Angel Herbal Products Industry Ltd, Angel Educational Complex Ltd, Angel Broadcasting Services Ltd, Angel Transport and Trading Ltd and Angel Estate and Construction Ltd.

Besides providing employment to a large number of people, Dr. Oteng, a native of Toase in the Ashanti Region, is also noted for his passion for extending a helping hand to the poor and needy in society.

Married to Mrs. Joyce Yeboah Oteng and blessed with four children, the Angel Group of Companies' boss is known for his continual help to the foster homes in the Ashanti Region, notably the Kumasi Children's Home.

Dr. Oteng is also known for his commitment to educational growth in the country. He had over the years sponsored a sizeable number of brilliant but needy students in the region to climb top of the academic ladder.

The Angel Group of Companies Boss received several top notch awards for his contribution towards business development and society, one of such awards being the 'Meritorious Award' which he received in 2009 during the 10th anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

He received the gold award of the Ashanti Business Leaders Excellence Awards which is organized under the auspices of the Manhyia Palace, on four occasions – 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010 – among other awards.
