Accra, Feb. 29, GNA - The President, John Agyekum Kufuor, returned home this evening from Sirte, Libya, where he attended the Second Extraordinary Heads of State and Government Summit of the African Union (AU).
Clement Eledi, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, Minister of Foreign affairs and Joseph Akudibillah, Deputy Minister of Defence accompanied the President.
The summit focused on Agriculture, Water and Common Defence and Security Policy, which was muted by Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, Leader of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya at the last AU Summit held in Maputo, Mozambique last year.
At the airport to meet President Kufuor were Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, some Ministers of State, the Libyan Charge d' Affairs, Taher Al Magrahi and the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Seth Obeng.
