Mason Sodomizes Girl, 10

Emmanuel Seidu, alias Kojo Addae, a 26-year-old mason has found himself in the grip of the law after he allegedly sodomised a 10-year-old girl on several occasions.

The accused person who was put before an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava was charged with defilement of a female under 16 years and he pleaded not guilty.

He has been remanded on the orders by Ms Agbemava to re-appear on September 9, 2013.

The facts of the case as presented by the prosecuting officer Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire are that the complainant, Owusu Kese Emmanuel, is a registered nurse and biological father of the victim.

The police officer stated that the victim lives at Dome Pillar 2 with her grandmother while the accused person is a mason who also resides in the same area.

He added that the accused person is a neighbour who often went to the house where the victim lives to recharge his mobile phone.

According to him, whenever the victim is left alone in the house, the accused person would lure her into his room where he would have sex with her through her anus.

The prosecutor said on July 7, 2013, the mason lured the little girl into his room where he had sex with her through her anus and  warned her to tell anybody after which he gave her GH¢1.00.

Furthermore, he noted that the complainant who works at Mankraso in the Ashanti Region visited his daughter and saw some changes in her and interrogated her as to what was wrong with her to which she narrated her ordeal to him.

Explaining further, he said the complainant quickly rushed to the police to lodge a complaint after which the victim was given a form to attend any government hospital for examination and treatment.

The police officer said when the report of the hospital was handed to the police, the mason was arrested and he admitted the offence in his cautioned statement and was arraigned after police concluded investigations.
