High-Profile Internet Gurus To Meet Business Leaders In Accra

Local and international internet gurus are heading to Accra to meet leading businesses who want to exploit the vast advantages of trading online and taking the lead ahead of their rivals when it comes to the modern way of conducting business across the world.

Opening the Ghana eCommerce Expo, which is the only event designed for all things eCommerce will be the Honourable Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Communications.

The 2-day exhibition and conference will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on 29-30th August 2013 under the theme, "Building Ghana's Businesses Online" and it focuses on learning best practices as well as equipping conference delegates with the latest technologies in ecommerce, mobile commerce, e-marketing, antidotes to cyber fraud, cloud computing, etc.

Keynote Speakers Include:

Professor Nii Quaynor

Professor Nii Quaynor is a keynote speaker at the Ghana eCommerce confab. He graduated in engineering science from Dartmouth College in 1972 and received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Thayer School of Engineering there in 1973. He then studied Computer Science, obtaining an M.S. from the State University of New York at StonyBrook in 1974 and a Ph.D. from the same institution in 1977.

He was one of the founding members of the Computer Science Department at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, and continues to hold a professorship there.In 2000, he became director of ICANN for the African region.

Nii was recently inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame and brings to the Ghana eCommerce Expo, a huge wealth of knowledge in the field of IT and business.

Dr Pradeep Murkherjee

Dr Pradeep Murkherjee is another keynote speaker Dr Murkherjee is President of Avasant, heading Avasant's Asia & Africa operations. He has over 20 years of rich experience and expertise in Consultancy and Management of Technology Businesses and a unique blend of understanding of ICT & Outsourcing.

Dr Pradeep Murkherjee will speak on "eGovernment in ICT and Society"at the Ghana eCommerce conference. This presentation will explore the potential impacts of information and ICTs especially e-government and social media; on cultural attitudes about transparency opportunities in Government Sector; opportunities for the BPO Sector; and How these will help the end user i.e. the citizens of the nation.

Alexander Sulzberger

Alexander Sulzberger is the CEO and founder of Ecoband Networks, a Ghanaian connectivity solution provider. He has worked on information and communications technology projects in Austria, Israel, Germany and West Africa, and with the United Nations and Internet service providers and telecoms in West Africa.
