The newly formed: YOUNG LIBERALS PARTY OF GHANA, over the weekend had some sharp words delivered to the Clergymen and women of the various religious groupings in the country.

On its Facebook page, this weekend , the YLP declared that it is utterly dismayed at the blunt ignorance of religious leaders in country, for failing to skillfully deliver a true sense of hope and purpose for the young people of the country., instead clergy men and women like politicians are in the race for material gains.

Religion in Ghana, it went on to say, was more of a mockery to the existence of God, people those that are meant to shepherd us all to the Lord, have lost touch of their true calling, and instead scrambling for bread crumbs.

Loads of Ghanaian churches that have mushroomed across the globe in far away lands have not been spare the wrath of this ignorance, partly because of the composition of our

cultural heritage , the infusion of traditional values, and an educational structure that was void of these crucial ingredients.

It is therefore a joke to turn on the radio and hear clergy men and women talk about calls for peace ahead of the Supreme Court verdict, when right under their noses , they see congregation polarized by politics, corruption and poverty. Mr. Bondze , a founding member of the YLP Ghana, stated that the Supreme Court verdict would be a wake

up call for all Ghanaians, and that all the Political leaders, Clergymen/women, and Traditional leaders, have failed the young men and women of our country by failing to care for the welfare of the average Ghanaian.

The verdict he therefore said, should serve as a wake up call for voters around the country to redefine how they look at the current leaderships of their said political parties. The Young Liberals Party of Ghana, he said would stand as the platform that would always seek to advance the development of young men and women that genuinely seek to better the lives of ordinary Ghanaians, as well as work together with pressure groups to ensure that our collective interests are spear-headed and channeled towards national development.

Ghana needs to cure itself of the deep rooted corruption and ignorance at the leadership and policy makers level, and the YLP challenges the young people of Ghana to begin to stand up for what is Ghanaian, work to rid Ghana of its current state of decay. It would not be an easy challenge, because the OLD GUARD of leadership, would try to undermine the efforts and will of the people , but we believe the effective commitment to the path we are choosing would surely bring about the much needed change.

The Ghanaian youth from 18yrs and above should be allowed to participate in the dialogue that is designed to shape the destiny of our beloved country, therefore we ask all to join us in bringing the right impetus onto the Ghanaian political arena. Long live Ghana,

and God continue to bless all those working to make Ghana better. WE CAN DO BETTER THAN IS BEING DONE TODAY.
