GHANA'S POET, J.Y. FRIMPONG RELEASES SPOKEN WORD

One of Ghana's sensational poet, J.Y.Frimpong released the spoken word version of popular alternative music, Viva la Vida. The music which was originated sang by British band, Coldplay talks about the French revolution.

Viva la vida which means "Long live life" or simply "Live life" in English can be found on Coldplay's album "Viva la vida or death and all his friends". According to the poet, the reason why he chose to do a rendition(cover) of the song was that it shared the same theme with his the theme poem of his book "A book that never dies."

Viva la vida uses biblical allusions to create a dramatic effect. As to whether the King in the original song Viva la vida could be linked to the lead character in "A book that never dies" the writer said "No, I think not, because Oliver hates monarchs, and therefore can't be him. The King in Viva la Vida can be linked to Oliver in so many ways.
