AGN SPAIN CHAIRMAN, COMRADE LAMPTAY ORIAKHI ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIAN NATIONALS ASSOCIATION OF MADRID SPAIN.

The Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Spain, Comrade Lamptay Oriakhi was on Saturday the 25th of May 2013 elected President of the Nigerian Nationals Association of Madrid Spain. Comrade Lamptay defeated his opponent, Mr David Odiegwu to become the 7th President of the union in an election that witnessed the highest turnout of voters in the Union's history.

Many Nigerians who took part in the process expressed confidence in the President-elect as they hope that his visionary prowess as a community organizer would propel the community of Nigerians in Spain to greater heights.

In a statement, the President-elect thanked Nigerians for their support as he stated amongst other things that his tenure shall be greatly focused on the unity of Nigerians in the Federation of Spain. He observed that Nigerians in Spain have been divided along ethnic or tribal lines: hence, advancing the collective course of the people had often met with jeopardy.

Other elected members of the executive include Chinwe Benedicta Nwogwugwu, Vice President; Jonah Iyoriobhe, PRO; Timothy Otike, Treasurer; Helen Otike, Director of Welfare and Nosa Anthony Idahosa, Deputy Director of Welfare. The positions of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Financial Secretary are expected to be filled through the bye election.
