The party that will emerge victorious in the ongoing election petition before the Supreme Court has been asked not to celebrate the victory for the sake of national peace and unity.

All political parties have been urged to also accept the outcome of the court verdict.

These were part of recommendations made at a roundtable discussion organized under the Institute of Economic Affairs-Ghana Political Parties Programme on Thursday.

The one-day discussion was on the theme: “Post-Electoral Dispute Resolution – Fostering Peace, National Cohesion and Reconciliation After Supreme Court Ruling.”

It was also recommended that, “The security agencies should be prepared to secure Ghana's safety and assert their authority and maintain peace. Law and order after the court ruling without fear or favour.”
