Guwahati, May 22 : Two hardcore cadres of anti-talk faction group of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) were apprehended by police in Guwahati on Wednesday, police said.
Following a tip-off, Guwahati city police had launched operation and nabbed the militants from a guest house in the city on Wednesday morning.
'The militants were sheltered at Guwahati guest house near Jatia in the city attempt to extortion,' Assam police IGP of Central-Western range Dr LR Bisnoi said.
The nabbed rebels were identified as Bailo Basumutary and Anil Boro.
Security forces recovered two 9 mm pistols, 12 rounds live ammunition in possession of them.
Guwahati city police apprehended five militants including three left wing extremists in the city in past three weeks.
On April 26, police nabbed two left wing extremists at Jorabat area, outskirts of Guwahati and recovered arms and ammunition in possession of them.
