
A business delegation from France on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Ghana's Sector Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Haruna Iddrissu at his office in Accra.
The 34 man delegation led by the French Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency, Frederic Clavier, expressed their satisfaction at the stable political climate in the country which creates an enabling business environment for prospective investors.
H. E Clavier commended the Government and people of Ghana for the warmth hospitality accorded the delegation and added that they strongly believe in Ghana as a business destination.
He added that the French Government has recently upgraded its relations with Ghana in the areas of politics, infrastructure development, agriculture, sports amongst others which will go a long way in strengthening the long standing bilateral relationship between the two nations.
He pledged his country's readiness to offer Ghana equal and better business opportunities for domestic entities wishing to enter the European market through France.
Currently, the sixteen French Companies operating in the country, the Ambassador stated will comply and abide by the basic rules and regulations governing business in the country. The visit of the delegation opens new steps in Ghana-France relationship.
In his response, Hon. Haruna Iddrissu thanked the delegation for chosen and describing Ghana as a prospective and an enabling business environment.
He said Ghana which has been the beacon of hope for Africa's multi-party democracy has been and will continue to be a business destination for all legitimate trades.
He mentioned road infrastructure development, oil and gas industry, agriculture, finance and banking amongst others as some of the potential businesses that abounds in the country.
The Minister announced that Ghana will facilitate the entry into the country of many French companies through a strategic partnership deal.
Governments of this country he noted has put in place strong and enough legal assurances backed by a stable democratic environment to protect and ensure the safety of investors in the country.
The Trades and Industry Sector Minister indicated that he looks forward to a stronger and deeper bilateral relationship between Ghana and France.
