
Cape Coast, May 18, GNA - A Cape Coast Magistrate's Court has sentenced a 25-year- old man, Jean Greene to 15 months imprisonment in hard labour for threatening to poison his father.
Greene pleaded not guilty.
Narrating the facts of the case to the court presided over by Ms Mercy Adei Kotei, Police Inspector Daniel Baidoo said, Greene leaves who stays with his father, Reverend Richard Greene in the same house at Mankessim near Cape Coast has on several occasions threatened to poison his dad.
He said, Greene also threatened to set the house ablaze or poison the whole family when his father found him smoking Indian hemp.
Inspector Baidoo said, on February 26, Greene asked his father for his daily pocket money but when his demand was not immediately met he again threatened to poison him.
He said Greene's behaviour frightened the father who lodged a complaint with the police leading to the arrest of the convict.
Prosecutor said Greene in his caution statement said he rather threatened to take his father to a spiritualist to be killed.
