
Bibiani (W/R), May17, GNA - The Bibiani Magistrates' Court presided over by Mr. Osei Kofi Amoako, has sentenced a 22 year-old driver, Kwesi Gyimah, to three years imprisonment for unlawful entry and stealing.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Mike Agbaglo, told the court that the complainant, Mr. Benjamin Agyekum, is the Branch Manager of Bayport Finance Service at Bibiani whilst the accused is a driver, residing at Ataasu near Sefwi Bekwai.
He said at about 1530 hours on February 3 this year, the complainant returned from church and detected that his room had been broken into and his mobile phone valued at GHC250 and a Multi T.V decoder also valued at GHC420 had been stolen.
Chief Inspector Agbaglo said at about 1500 hours on February 14, 2013, the complainant spotted the accused at Bibiani with his mobile phone and with the help of others the accused was arrested and handed over to the Police.
He said later, the Police went to the house of Gyimah and the stolen Multi T.V decoder was retrieved.
Chief Inspector Agbaglo said during interrogation, the accused admitted the offence and after further investigations, he was charged.
