Apam (C/R), May 17, GNA - The Gomoa West District Assembly has re-elected Mr Anthony Eyiah Quansah, a teacher, as the Presiding Member of the Assembly.
Mr Quansah, the sole candidate for the position had earlier failed to get the Assembly's endorsement in two rounds of voting on May 3, 2013.
The Assembly in consultation with the District Electoral Officer, Ms Mathilda Kwarteng postponed the election to May 17.
On the day, Mr Quansah polled 41 out of the 47 votes cast to get the approval.
Five of the 52 member Assembly were absent.
Mr Charles Wiafe, District Magistrate, led Mr Quansah to swear the official oath and the oath of secrecy.
Mr Quansah in his acceptance speech thanked the members for renewing their confidence in him and assured them that he would work hard and ensure the development of the area.
He called for team work to push the development of the district forward.
