I am Frimpong and I am a Ghanaian
But I do not like to see in my country.
In so much of a mess, neither do I
Like to see it run down but unfortunately
It has and will continue if nothing is done.
It is very sad that I sometimes buy
That orange not that I want to but I feel
By doing so, I am helping the orange seller
I feel equally devastated when I sleep
In continuous darkness, not because I can't
Pay my bills but because someone has failed
Somewhere and somehow and can't be explained
It is very painful when you have to pay
For a service and be treated as if charity
Is being done unto you but yet not be able to complain
Something has gone wrong somewhere
But there is no one to complain to and it
Seems during election times that they
Know what is wrong and can be done.
Yet, nothing is done after we are fooled.
I look at all these and realize that
For 56 years running, some selfless and selfish people
Died in a smile thinking they were sacrificing.
But apparently they were, they did so only for
Someone's soup to smell and taste nicer.
Anokwa! Our forefathers have died in vain.
