NEW SMARTPHONE – LIFEWATCH V – TO TEST SUGAR LEVELS AND BLOOD PRESSURE UNVEILED

Accra, Ghana, 14th May, 2013: A unique smartphone that does not only makes calls but performs and analyze a whole range of medical tests and sends a report of the results to the user and his physician has been launched by an Israeli company, LifeWatch Technologies (www.lifewtach.com ).

The android-based smartphone - LifeWatch - has sensors embedded in it that allows the user to check his blood oxygen saturation level and measure his blood pressure with an attached sleeve. The user can also depend on it to keep track of his daily footsteps and temperature levels.

Designed to make life easier for the user, LifeWatch V's thermometer allows enables the user to check his temperature while its pedometer helps him keep track of his daily footsteps; and at the same time helps the user figure out his body fat percentage, plan his diet and log his workouts.

Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Yacov Geva says 'LifeWatch V will be especially useful to help manage many aspects of a chronic medical condition such as diabetes. Blood glucose test strips can be inserted right into a portal on the phone's stainless-steel frame and it can send reminders to check glucose levels and take insulin'.
