AUCC admits more females in 2013/2014 academic year

The African University College of Communications (AUCC) has in the 2013/2014 academic year administered matriculation oaths to more females than males to pursue various programmes in the schools of Communications and Business.

In the School of Communications, 70 females were admitted as against 64 males, whiles 45 females were accepted in the School of Business with 23 males being offered admission too.

Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright, Acting Dean of the School of Business, made this known in an address to welcome 202 fresh men and women into the College on Saturday.

Dr Anim-Wright urged the new students to engage in meaningful lifestyles that would make them unique and impact positively on the national development agenda.

“Engaging means you seek out opportunity, thrive in the face of adversity and create a positive impact upon the world around you”, he stated.

Dr Anim-Wright said in engagement, there would be life, energy, thought, resistance, pushback and ultimately productive and formative interaction.

But,“it is that push and pull back dynamics and the success within it that would eventually provide one with the unique experience and education”, said the Acting Dean.

“This is the type of student AUCC moulds quietly, calmly and purposefully to make a societal difference”, he added.

The Acting Dean assured the fresh students that the College would go all-out to provide the needed teaching and learning resources and congenial environment to facilitate academic success, but added that each student must make a conscious effort to make the success a reality.
