Lead counsel for the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Nana Ato Dadzie has revealed that the petitioners in the election petition hearing submitted about 8,000 pink sheets and not 11,842 as they have claimed.
He said: “We have maintained all along that what they've supplied is nothing more than eight thousand”, adding that: “…We've said that there's a shortfall of 3,337, could be more”.
The NDC lawyer said in post-court interview that “right from the beginning of this case we have said they have failed to supply us 11,842 they claim...we raised this matter in the affidavits of Aseidu Nketia”.
He said in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling, their earlier objection had come back to haunt the petitioners.
He said that the consequence of not having a “single pink sheet” supplied in their figure “goes against them [petitioners]”.
Ato Dadzie explained that the reason why respondent for NDC, Tsatsu Tsikata has refused to disclose the number of pink sheets was because the burden of proof lied with the petitioners.
