The Head of the Economic Statistics at the Ghana Statistical Service; Magnus Ebo Duncan has resigned.
He tendered in his resignation letter last week citing personal reasons. But JOY BUSINESS has gathered this could have been instigated by some apparent disagreement between himself and the Acting Government Statistician, Dr. Philomina Nyarko.
He joined in service in 1990 as a regional statistician before rising through the ranks to assume his position as the Head of Economic Statistics.
Mr. Duncan's spearheaded the review of the basket of goods and services for calculating inflation rate. His exit is coming at a critical time when the service is planning to use the revised basket in inflation computation beginning with April's figures.
