The “Let My Vote Count” campaign which started in Ghana following the flawed elections of December 7 2012, has now assumed a global dimension. As a result Ghanaians in Germany will meet in the City of Cologne on Easter Sunday March 31 2013 not just to discuss but also demand that their votes be counted.
The program which is being organized by the Cologne Chapter of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) starts at 12 noon and takes place at the JugendcentrumGremberg, OdenwaldStrasse 98.
According to Mrs Rebecca Sarpong, Chairperson of NPP Cologne, the event provides an opportunity for Ghanaians in Germany to be well informed about the irregularities that characterized the 7 December polls and why the NPP chose the path of peace by going to court.
MrsSarpong said the issue is not about the NPP but it is about the Millions of Ghanaians who queued for hours to cast their votes and the thousands in Diaspora who travelled to Ghana to exercise their democratic rights to vote.
She disclosed that most Ghanaians who travelled from Germany to Ghana to cast their votes spent not less than € 6,000 each hence it is important for their voices to be heard and not silenced through fraud.
MrsSarpong revealed that Party Executives who have been invited from the National Secretariat to address the gathering include MrAlhassanYakubuTali- National Vice-Chairman, NPP Germany and My Kwaku Anane-Gyinde, Director of Communication- NPP Germany.
Attendance is free, while free food will also be provided with Live Music to climax it all.
