The General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has rubbished media reports that he wants to quit the party.
In an interview with Citi News, the PNC General Secretary said he has no intention of quitting the PNC and that he will remain loyal to the party.
“…if I say I'm not contesting for the General Secretary of the party, it doesn't amount to quitting the party. It takes a certain sense of leadership to say others should come and perform so if I am asking others to come and perform, it doesn't mean I am resigning from the party…”
Bernard Mornah also urged the media to be circumspect in their reportage saying, “journalism must be something that should enhance social duty and if journalists decide to throw their etiquette into the dustbin, it becomes unacceptable.”
Mr. Mornah further appealed to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and National Media Commission (NMC) to check “this attitude because you can't just speculate wrong things about somebody. You have defamed me and undermined my image and I think it's high time journalists know it is not proper to do such things.”
