The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) says government has not shown strong political will in fighting corruption at the Tema Harbour.

Vitus Azeem's comments come in the wake of revelations by a former employee of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) about systematic corruption involving customs officers and agents at the tema port.

The whistle blower who is now the Member of Parliament for Daboya-Mankarigu, Nelson Abudu said he will make available to the president and the speaker of parliament his dossier on corrupt practices by customs officers after the presentation of the budget today, Tuesday.

But the anti corruption campaigner who spoke to Joy News said there has not been a strong political will to fight the canker at the port despite several interventions.

"The problem remains because those who are supposed to take action are not taking action..." he stated.
