Ho, Feb. 15, GNA - A security man at Tsito-Awudome Senior High School was on Thursday jailed eight years by a Ho Circuit Court for the carnal knowledge of and impregnating his 16-year-old daughter, a class five pupil.

Felix Kwaku Dotse Zah pleaded guilty to incest and was convicted on his own plea.

Mr Augustine Dogbega, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in-charge of Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service in Ho who briefed the GNA, said in 2002, Zah and the mother of the victim separated.

He said the victim's mother after the separation travelled to Liberia but left three of their children including the victim with their maternal grandmother at Elubo on the Ghana-Cote d' Ivoire border.

Mr Dogbega said in 2011, Zah asked his sister, now deceased, to go and bring the victim and her younger sister to him at Tsito-Awudome.

DSP Dogbega said upon arrival, Zah asked the victim to use the same bed with him, (Zah), while the other children slept on a mat on the floor.

He said Zah, then commenced having sex with his daughter.

Mr Dogbega said in 2012, Zah reconciled with the victim's mother and asked the victim to join her siblings on the floor, but continued to assault the victim sexually when he got the opportunity.

He said in January this year, Zah forced the victim again for sex and threatened not to take care of her if she refused to give in.

Mr Dogbega said the victim gave in but informed her cousin about her ordeal.

He said the victim's cousin later reported the case to the victim's mother and the Queen-mother of Tsito Awudome.

Mr Dogbega said Zah and the victim were summoned before the Chief of Tsito Awudome where the two admitted engaging in the act.

Mr Dogbega said the case was later reported to the Police.

A medical examination on the victim indicated that she was pregnant.
