The Majority in Parliament has said its work in the house would be affected if the Minority decides to follow through with its threat to boycott some sittings in protest of what they describe as fraudulent election results that saw President Mahama declared winner of the 2012 election.

In an interview with Citi News the Deputy Majority Chief Whip and NDC MP for Juabosu, Sampson Ahi stated that ''parliament can meet and transact business if one third of all the Members of Parliament are present.''

According to him ''the reasons the minority gave to justify their boycott of the inauguration was the fact that they did not recognize the President [Mahama] as duly elected President of our republic.''

He indicated that the New Democratic Congress (NDC) members of Parliament are more than one third of the number needed, if we take into consideration the two hundred and seventy five members in totality.

The NDC MP For Juabuso further added that the Majority [NDC] has formed a quorum that will be able to deliberate on national issues brought to the House.
