The Centre of Awareness conducted a press launch on the 6th of November, 2012 with the support of First Capital Plus to introduce an anti-HIV/AIDS drug dubbed the COA drug. It is a herbal based drug developed in 2006 by the Centre of Awareness, an NGO located in Cape-Coast.
The innovators of the drug and some researchers consider the COA drug a wonder drug capable of treating other conditions like Cancer, Hepatitis B, Leukemia and Diabetes. However detailed scientific study has only been conducted to determine its efficacy against HIV/AIDS and Diabetes by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine respectively. Scientific research is currently under way to determine its efficacy against other conditions.
In a presentation, Rev. Nicholas Trebi of Noguchi provided the findings of an in-vitro assay (test tube research) conducted by Dr. Jacob Barnor of Noguchi to determine the efficacy of the COA drug in curing HIV/AIDS. The conclusions indicate that the drug has the ability of reducing the HIV Virus to undetectable levels. It also has the ability to revive dead cells and protect healthy ones. The drugs impressive performance against HIV/AIDS is deemed a breakthrough since current orthodox anti-retroviral HIV/DRUGS have not been able to achieve similar results even in in-vitro tests.
Prof. Dominic Edoh of the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine, Mampong also provided a presentation on research conducted to determine its efficacy against diabetes. The findings indicated that 10ml of the COA drug performed significantly better than known drugs used to control diabetes.
The drug has received rave reviews from renowned scientists and reputable research institutions but detailed clinical tests need to be conducted for global recognition and acceptance, and the Center for Awareness has initiated the process.
Is COA drug the wonder drug the world has been waiting for? Will the drug fulfill its potential?
Only time will tell.
