Vincent in a dominant display shot an incredible 4-under 68 to continue his streak of wins in the Taysec September medal campaign for 2012(Three medal victories so far). Playing on a daring handicap 1, Vincent cruised to a bogeyless back-nine after he sank birdies on par 5-tenth, par 4-eleventh, amidst series of pars and a lavish eagle on par-5 fifteenth in the Men A Division.

“I constructed a long shot on hole 15 that travelled over 300 yards”, he said, adding: “I moved on to make an approach second shot that saw the edge of the hole, and went on to chip in for eagle.”

The front nine however, was not a walk over for Vincent as he dropped a point on hole 6 after he parred the first five holes. However, a birdie on hole 7 brought him back into a whirlwind contention as he was dealt with another bogey on hole 8 en route to a par on hole nine.

Y. Assan-Sam returned a net score of 71 off 11 for second place finish. He concedes that, most of his attempts for birdies just refused to see the holes. “I sank three birdies in all; I missed many birdie chances because just when I knew I had sunk in, the ball would just hit the apron of the pin and then stopped.”He said. Carl Brew-Aidoo trailed third on a net of 71 off 11.

In the Men B, Eddie Addo finished strong for first place on a net score of 70 off handicap 15. K. Ampaw surfaced second with same net score off handicap 21, with Nana Agyei-Duku who returned a net score of 72 off 21placing third.

Lizzy Aku-Yabah made fantastic back-nine charge after series of putting precision for victory in the Ladies A Division. She returned a net score of 72 off 16. Suzy Abaloo-Kumassah followed on 73 off 15.

Mrs. Esther Amoah was the diamond in the sky in the Ladies B after a 71 net score off 23. Comfort Amuzu placed second on 74 off 32.

Patrick Tender was phenomenal in the Youth category on net score of 73 off 7. Bright Logo followed closely on 74 off 7. R. Degbe won the maiden Pros category prize of GHC300.00 on a score of 70, Emos Korblah and T.K Govinous followed in second and third places with 71 shots to take home GHC150.00 each.

Geoff Fisher, Managing Director of Taysec, was grateful for the participation of the Ladies, reminded golfers about Taysec Open slated for October 6 and thanked the efforts of Tullow Oil to invest in the practice range that shall open later in October.

Corroborating on the assertion, Club Captain, Rene Gameli-Kwame, said, the club would take delivery of new equipment for maintenance and further noted that phase two of the project will involve complete renovation and redesign of the Achimota Golf Club.

Carl Brew-Aidoo and Ama Morgan won the monthly raffle draw under the sponsorship of Allianz to enjoy golden treats at Labadi Beach Hotel and Holliday Inn respectively.
