The fact that the Italian economy has taken a nose dive and has greatly affected the activities of immigrants communities cannot be over emphasized, many activities of the various communities has considerably slowed down and many others are completely missing in action as their financial base has dwindled to the barest minimum as most members are unemployed but all this took the back seat last Saturday 29th September as a branch of the famous Destiny club based in Kumasi was inaugurated in the Northern Italian city of Reggio Emilia. The extraordinary attendance, the near perfect organization, Ghanaian culture once again being displayed under its costumes and traditional dances, a live band never seen in the city of Reggio Emilia and Italians making their presence felt would remain on the minds of the happy looking participants for many more years to come. The bond of unity which has made Ghana the envy of many African countries was of full view as all the various Ghanaian communities were present.

The Ghanaian nationals Association, Peace & Love, Old Timers, V.I.P, Sekondi Takoradi Association, kwahuman, Asanteman, Brong Association, Okuapeman Association and others were all present. Prominent Chiefs who also graced the occasion with their presence were Nana Owusu Sarpong, Reggiohene, Nana Lois Kentehene of Reggio, Nana Parma, Brong Hemaa. Catholic Bishop Nana Akwasi Sarpong was the special guest of honor who came all the way from Ghana. Mr and Mrs Agine from Modena chaired the function. The leaders of the Destiny club were later introduced to the large gathering. Mr. Seth Padi as President, Mr Adjei Benson in charge of finance and Mr Osei as secretary. Nana Akosua Serwaa as Queen Mother and founder of the Destiny Club.

In his address Bishop Nana Akwasi Sarpong advised members of the club to uphold the values of the union and not think of what they will gain from joining the club but what they can do for the club. When the program was brought to a close many were asking if the formations of various Ghanaian communities is a good omen for the Ghanaian Nationals Associations as they can be mobilized under one umbrella or will rather signify their demise as it has it has now become a toothless bulldog or unattractive.
