Presenting the item in Accra, Mr Asare Akuffo, Managing Director of HFC Bank and President of the Association, said the donation was a modest way of the Association's contribution to the development of the health sector.

He said it was in response to the acute shortage of the machine in the hospital that the donation was made saying it also formed part of the Association's corporate social responsibility to complement government and the hospitals effort in providing health care to the poor and needy in the society.

Mr Akuffo said the Association would continue to support the hospital and urged the authorities to ensure that the machine would be used for the intended purpose.

Professor Ohene Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital receiving the equipment, expressed gratitude to the Association for the presentation saying the equipment had come at the appropriate time to help the needy and poor in the region.

He said the equipment would supplement the exisiting three dialysis machines in the hospital and speed up the medical processes in the hospital.

Prof Adjei said the region was one of the largest in the country with huge numbers of people seeking health care in the facility and hoped that the equipment would help the hospital cater for the huge numbers of patients.
