The two families of the late Mrs Kate Kusi, who was murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants at Alhaji, a suburb of Accra, last Monday, have called on the police to speed up investigations to bring the culprits to justice.

The heads of the two families, who met Friday at the residence of the widower, Pastor Joel Kusi of the Word of Blessings Ministry International at Kwabenya, particlarly asked the police to ensure that those found to have played a part in the murder case were not spared.

When graphic.com.gh got to where a family gathering had been held at Achimota at 2:15 p.m. Friday, relatives of the deceased were in sorrow, with the mother, Madam Veronica Inkoom, throwing herself on the ground.

The gathering also included both sympathisers and old friends of the deceased.

The two families had met to plan the funeral of Mrs Kusi.

According to Pastor Kusi, the two families were waiting for the final autopsy report from the hospital.

He said although the police had opened full investigations into the case, it was imperative that they sped up the process because of the nature of the murder.

“It is a fresh case and it cannot be left to rest, since every delay into the investigation can affect the final report,’’ he said.

Madam Inkoom, who could not control her tears, shouted, “Don’t let my daughter’s death be in vain.”

Mrs Kusi, 25, was killed with a kitchen knife at a time her 38-year-old husband was away in his office.

The assailants inflicted knife wounds on her neck, resulting in her bleeding to death, and made away with GH¢1,000 and a DVD player. - graphic.com.gh
