Agona Swedru, Sept 20, GNA - The Agona West branch of the Young Patriots of the New Patriotic Party has expressed shock about the attempt by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of Agona West to mislead people with propaganda to win their votes.

It said the NDC had mounted billboards, claiming it had undertaken a number of development projects in the Municipality when in fact some of them were done by the former NPP government.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Lawrence Snifpef, a spokesperson of the group with a copy made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Swedru.

The statement said some of the projects the NDC listed on the billboards include a market at Mandela, a meat shop and day care center in the same Market.

These projects were financed by African Development Bank (AFDB) implemented by Social Investment Fund (SIF) under the poverty alleviation programme.

It said claiming the construction of a 33-KV electricity transformer substation at Agona Swedru was deceptive because the project was started by the erstwhile NPP govenment.

The statement said it was regrettable that during President John Mahama's visit to the area recently he cut a sod for work to begin on the construction of a bridge over River Akora at Agona Swedru old Sawmills and said the bridge would be built soon.
