Takoradi Sept.19, GNA-Emmanuel Ampah, a 25-year-old sales mobilizer of Daily Capital Microfinance Limited, on Wednesday appeared before Takoradi Circuit Court “B” for allegedly stealing 5,000 Ghana Cedis belonging to the company.
His plea was not taken and he was granted bail in the sum of 10,000 Ghana Cedis with two sureties to re-appear on October 10 this year.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Fuseini Yakubu, said the accused collected the amount from customers of the company between February and June this year.
He said the accused failed to hand over the money to the company and made use of it.
Inspector Yakubu said the company detected the theft in June and reported the matter to the Police who arrested the accused.
He said the accused admitted the offence in his caution statement to the Police and promised to refund the money but had failed to do so.
Inspector Yakubu said after further investigations, the accused was charged with the offence and put before court.
