TESCON UEW READY FOR ELECTION 2012

18.09.2012 LISTEN
By Gilbert Frimpong

The tertiary education student's confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party, University of Education, Winneba has declared its readiness for the election 2012.

As the December 7, general election draws nearer and nearer, all the political parties in the country are mapping up strategies to help them win the seat and their students bodies are not left out in this fight.

For the NPP, activities of TESCON which is the only intellectual whip of the party can not be over looked.

During the 2000 elections, one of the biggest machinations of the NPP then was the TESCON and their role then could not be put under the carpet. In so doing, the UEW branch of TESCON has held its first general meeting in the semester to outline their plans for the election 2012. The meeting which was under theme "the time for change is now" was attended by several big wigs of the party from the national level through the regional level to the constituency level. Speaking at the meeting, the president of TESCON-UEW, Mr. Kofi Abrefa assured the party its readiness for the election 2012. "TESCON-UEW is more than ready to work hard for the party". He said. Mr. Abrefa added that members of TESCON-UEW are ready to carry out any legal machination of the party from been a pollen agents to been an informants. He said they will go all out and work very hard to help the party wrestle power from the visionless NDC.

On his part, Mr. Alex A. Markin the NPP parliamentary candidate of the Effutu constituency assured the group of his utmost support. Mr. Markin a former TESCON member of the UCC said, he knows the plight of the TESCON members and so will not turn against them.

Mr. Markin challenged the members not to be complacent of the failure of the NDC government but rather be ever ready to work for the party.

He believe that the election 2012 was rigged and the NPP will not allow itself for such things to happen again. He is therefore urging them to motivate themselves with Nana Addo's famous "All-Die-Be-Die" mantra as a motivation to work hard and protect the ballot for the NPP to wrestle the power from the NDC.
