Sunyani, Sept. 14, GNA – Mr. Alban Bagbin, the Minister of Health, on Thursday called for the extension of term of office of the presidency and said the four-year term was not making any meaningful impact on national development.
Mr. Bagbin made the call when he addressed management and staff of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani as part of his two-day visit to the Region.
He explained that whenever there was change of government successive governments had to study the policies and programmes initiated under their predecessors before they could be on course.
“Sometimes we have to spend months and years to check documents so that we can follow the path of national development laid down by our forerunners”, he said.
Mr. Bagbin said politics was purposely meant for development and it would be appropriate if Ghanaians embrace the idea of the extension of the term for development to thrive.
