Former Black Stars Coach and GFA President Ben Kuofie has launched his much awaited manual “The Principles of Modern Soccer Coaching” at a colourful ceremony at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The event brought together the crème de la crème of Ghana Football administrators and Coaches as well as the National team coach James Akwasi Appiah and his deputy Maxwell Konadu who have in one way or the other benefited from the tutelage of the 80 year old football administrator and coach.

CAN 2008 LOC Chairperson Dr Kofi Amoah who chaired the function was full of praise for the veteran coach and used the opportunity to encourage coaches of today to do more to build their capacities and to avail themselves of the opportunity to attract more lucrative offers.

FA boss Kwasi Nyantekyi, who oversaw the funding of the manual was delighted to see the final part of the project and used the opportunity given him to eulogize the virtues of his predecessor.

He commended the author for the rich content at this time of Ghana's football history but expressed his regret at the lack of such materials from other Ghanaian coaches.

Celebrant Ben Kuofie used the occasion to encourage the present generation of coaches to do more to enrich the coaching capabilities and encouraged them to aspire to the very top of the coaching ladder.

“I urge you my colleagues especially the young ones to endeavour to push yourselves a lot harder and ascribe to get to the very top.

Modern football has changed a lot and you need to meet these new standards to get there.”

He also used the occasion to back the appointment of new Black Stars coach Akwasi Appiah and his deputy Maxwell Konadu and wished them the very best on the job.

The first copy of the manual was snapped up Dr Amoah for GHC 10,000 with other notable dignitaries like former FA boss Nana Brew Butler and current president Kwesi Nyantekyi also buying a copy for GHC 5,000.
