HFC Bank supports nine institutions with financial aid

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA – HFC Bank Ghana Limited on Friday offered financial assistance to nine institutions with to execute their programmes and activities.

The institutions included Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Accident Centre, Ghana Heart Foundation, Cardio thoracic centre, Dzorwulu Special School and SOS Ghana.

The rest are Catholic Action for Street Children, Help Age Ghana, Akuapem Community Foundation, University of Ghana Financial Aid and the National Partnership for Children's trust.

Mr Charles Ofori Acquah, Executive Director, Business Development HFC, speaking at a presentation ceremony in Accra said it is in the interest of the company to give back to society in which they operate.

He said HFC also believed in youth empowerment to build the future of the country.

He noted that there was the need to build the capacity and resource health personnel and institutions to enable them deliver quality services to the people.

He said the company will introduce a project dubbed “Youth Save Product” nationwide to cultivate the habit of saving in school children.

He said currently, the company has organized a survey in some part of the country and the results indicated that children save through the traditional means.

He expressed the hope that when the product is introduced parents would guide their children to embrace the idea of saving for future development.

Mrs Mercy Mamle Tetteh, the Company Secretary of HFC, said the company supports areas like education, health and apprenticeship training to empower the youth.

She said towards the end of the year more institutions would be offered assistance.

She also announced that the company would double the support in the coming year for the institution to improve on their activities.

Mr Sorsey Adjetey, Executive Director, HelpAge Ghana, who represented the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to management of the bank for the assistance.
