NOTTINGHAM, England (AFP) - South Africa won the fifth and final one-day international against England by seven wickets at Trent Bridge on Wednesday to end the series all square at 2-2.

South Africa, set a seemingly modest 183 for victory, collapsed to 14 for three before an unbroken stand of 172 between man-of-the-series Hashim Amla (97 not out) and captain AB de Villiers (75 not out) saw them home with more than 15 overs to spare.

England, who remain the world's number one side in ODIS, had earlier been dismissed for 182 after opting to bat first in the day/night fixture with left-arm spinner Robin Peterson taking three for 37.
