Municipal Chief Executive visits rural schools

Tarkwa, Sept 5, GNA - The Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa Nsueam, Mrs. Christian Kobinah, has extend this year's "My First Day at School" programme for primary one pupils to rural communities.

She said this was a way of encouraging the freshly admitted pupils to attend school regularly.

Mrs. Kobinah was accompanied by Municipal Director of Education, Madam Catharine Davis, Basic School Coordinator, Mrs. Agnes Quatson and the Presiding Member of Tarkwa Nsueam, Mr. Moses Ackah.

She presented biscuits, drinks and plastic cups to the pupils.

Some of the schools the team visited include Benso Essaman, Wassa Jukwah, Esuojah, Benso Methodist, Ningo, Mahamo and Amanteng.

The Municipal Education Director of Tarkwa Nsueam, Madam Catharine Davis, appealed to teachers to give off their best to the pupils.

Mrs. Quatson said the team visited seven schools and a total of 163 pupils were admitted to primary one from kindergarten, made up of 88 girls and 75 boys.
