ATUKPAI MARK ITS MAIDEN HOMOWO FESTIVAL

As part of its maiden Homowo Festival the Families within the Atukpai Mantse We in the Greater Accra Region (family house) paid homage to Nii Tetteh Tsuru II and supported the celebration,presented various kind of food items and drinks to for the celebration of the Homowo Festival. The items included maize, yam, vegetables, cooking oil, fish, schnapps, beverages and etc.

The families were Nii Adonten We, Nii Addy Koblah We, Nii Kpani Tsuru We, Nii Nii Kpani Koblah We, Nii Kwadzoman, Akoa Ndor, Kpone Antie We and Akotia Gwale We and other associates.

Speaking at the ceremony, Atuokpai Mantse, Nii Tetteh Tsuru II, said one might wonder why they were starting the Homowo celebration when Ghanaians were still mourning the demise of the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills.

He explained that, for about two years now they have not celebrated the Homowo the way it should, adding that they had been advised not to allow it to happen the third time.

Nii Tsuru II called on the people of Atukpai traditional area to desist from actions that would undermine the peace and tranquility of this country.

He noted that many world figures would be coming to mourn the late President and urged Ghanaians to behave well for the visitors to return to their various countries with fond memories of Ghana.
