Kumasi, Aug. 30, GNA – Voting started smoothly at the ruling National Democratic Congress' Special National Delegates Congress to either endorsed or reject President John Dramani Mahama as the party's Flag bearer for Election 2012.

The election is being supervised by a team of officials from the Electoral Commission led by Mr Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka.

The EC in collaboration with the NDC has set up about 15 polling booths for the Congress being attended by delegates from the 230 Constituencies.

Others expected to cast votes are NDC Members of Parliament, National and Regional Executives, Founding Members, President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

All other identifiable groups within the party, including foreign branches with voting rights, are also expected to cast their ballot.

The NDC had elected late President John Evans Atta Mills to lead the party in Election 2012 but he passed away on July 24, 2012 paving the way for then Vice President John Dramani Mahama, who succeeded him.

The National Executive Committee later endorsed President Mahama as the Flag bearer of the party for Election 2012.
