Juliana Azumah-Mensah declared NDC Candidate for Agotime-Ziope Constituency

Kpetoe, Aug. 19, GNA - Mrs Juliana Azumah-Mensah, Minister for Women and Children's Affair was on Sunday declared the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Agotime-Ziope Constituency by popular acclamation.

Mrs Azumah-Mensah was the Member of Parliament for Ho-East, which had now been split into the Agotime-Ziope and Adaklu Constituencies respectively.

Delegates at the Constituency Conference endorsed her candidature after officials of the Electoral Commission declared her as the sole candidate.

Mrs Azumah-Mensah expressed gratitude to the delegates and promised to work hard to give the constituency a facelift.

She said her doors remained opened to all for a better Agotime-Ziope Constituency.

The peaceful conference was characterized by exhortations to the branch executives of the Party to work hard for the Party towards winning the December polls.

Mr Ludwig Hlordzi, National Youth Organiser of the Party assured young people that the NDC has varied opportunities for the them and must therefore work extra hard for a “resounding victory” in December.

“NDC is for the youth. The Party has confidence in us. All we have to do is to get Atta Mills' Better Ghana agenda message to the people and remain in power,” he said.

Mr Gideon Atiklu, Agotime-Ziope District Cadres Coordinator expressed optimism that the NDC would win the December Polls convincingly.

Mr Micahel Kobla Adzaho, Agotime-Ziope District Chief Executive commended the delegates for being united and purposeful.

Meanwhile, Mr Kwami Agbodza, an Architect polled 99 votes out of 169 to beat three other persons contesting the Adaklu Constituency Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC.
