The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo- Dankwa Akuffo Addo, has donated several items worth thousands of cedis to the Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, for the celebration of the Eid-el-Fitr festival scheduled for this weekend.
The items included several bags of rice, cooking oil and an undisclosed cash amount. The items, which were delivered to the residence of the Chief Imam, are supposed to facilitate the celebration for the Muslim cleric who is required to share food during the festival.
The items were delivered by some NPP party members including Alhaji Fusseini Maiga, the president of the Nasara Wing of the NPP, Kwasi Amfo Kwakye and Marfo Ofori-Atta.
Receiving the items, Sheikh Sharubutu prayed for good luck and health for the NPP flagbearer who would be heading for the polls in December to contest for Ghana's presidency. According to the Muslim cleric, the day of the donation was a lucky one on the Muslim calendar.
The Muslim Eid-el-Fitr is the festival of the Muslims immediately after they break their 30-day fasting. During the festival, Muslims all over the world celebrate by feasting and sharing food and drinks with their neighbours.
