Chiefs of the Techiman Zongo Community have expressed their delight at having Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP Vice-Presidential Candidate emerge as a shining and credible light for Muslims and Zongo communities in Ghana.

The Chiefs disclosed this on the Brong Ahafo leg of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's Ramadan tour which saw him touring numerous Mosques and Zongo areas in Techiman.

Speaking during a courtesy call at the home of the Techiman Zongo Chief by Dr. Bawumia and his team, the Mossi Chief of Techiman Zongo, Fuseini Amadou, who represented the Techiman Zongo Chief, stated “there is nothing more delightful than having Dr. Bawumia here to seek our prayers today. Since time immemorial, it has been our prayer to have our sons and daughters emerge as shinning lights for Muslims and the Zongo communities. We are therefore very proud to see Dr. Bawumia, a true Muslim and Zongo man emerge as a very bright and credible light for us. ”

The Chief indicated that as a true Muslim and Zongo person, the little the chiefs of the various Zongo communities could do would be to support Dr. Bawumia and offer him their prayers.

Dr. Bawumia on his part thanked the Chiefs for their support and appealed to them to continue to remember him and his team in their prayers especially as they journey through the length and breadth of the nation campaigning.

The NPP Vice-Presidential candidate then joined worshippers for the Zuhr prayers. The Imam of the Mosque, Mallam Zuori was glad Dr. Bawumia visited his Mosque to seek the blessings of the Lord. He asked Allah to bless the thoughts and fulfil his.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was also at the Kenten Mosque for the Asr prayers where he joined worshippers including Chief of Kenten, Abubakar Saddique and Imam of the Mosque, Mallam Saeed Ibrahim.

For the Tafsir, the NPP Running Mate visited the ASWAJ Mosque also in Techiman. The Imam of the Mosque described it as a wise decision by Dr. Bawumia to seek blessings of Allah in the month of Ramadan as it was the best period to do so.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia before touring the Mosques and Zongos in Techiman paid a call on the Paramount chief of the Techiman Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV to among others console the Techiman state on the passing of the Kontihene of the area on behalf of Nana Akufo-Addo, NPP Presidential Candidate and the entirety of the Party.
