Accra, Aug 14, GNA - A reliable source at the Castle, Osu, on Tuesday confirmed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that President John Dramani Mahama would broadcast to the nation at 2000 hours on Wednesday, August 15th.

It said the maiden broadcast would be to thank Ghanaians for their support, love and encouragement, during the death, preparation and burial of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

The source said: “President Mahama will also use the occasion to set the tone for political discourse on campaigns devoid of personal and character attacks before, during and after Election 2012".

President Mahama would speak on the need to use civil language on all media platforms to continue to keep Ghana's democratic credentials intact and place the country above her peers in the international scene.

“The President will also use the occasion to encourage all Ghanaians to brace up towards working harder than before to enhance the growth and development of Ghana,” the source added.
