REJOINDER:-RE: AWUDOMES DESTOOL KWASI SEKPE

The attention of the Royal family of Hiaba clan of Awudome-Anyirawase has been drawn to your publication of 31st July 2012 captioned as above.

We as the kingmakers of the paramount stool of Awudome had wanted to ignore the publication but the insensitivity to the group to forment trouble at this time when the whole nation is mourning our beloved former president ,Prof. J.E .A Mills, and who we all regard as a peacemaker.

Secondly we were appalled by the trouble makers who are bent on denting our beautiful tradition of installing Paramount chief without troubles which is the envy of others.

We wish to put it on record that Togbega Addai Kwasi Sekpe XII was enstooled as Mankrado in 1977 and gazatted as such a paramount chief in waiting according to our tradition and custom, and satisfied the chieftaincy Act 370 of 1971 and Act 759 of 2008 and the 1992 constitution section 277 and 57(1) which declares the proper definition of a chief, and has been a member of the Awudome Traditional council until 2004 when he was coronated the president of the council.

He has not been destooled by us the kingmakers and we have no intention to destool him unless he goes against tradition, custom and the norms of the stool. The rabble-rousers who are taking advantage of the ailment of Togbe Adza Gbe klui Akordake XI and Mama Adomwa I to disturb the peace in Awudome should know that destoolment matters are serious matters and not for ram/mutton feasters.

As to the reader of the press statement as captured by your paper. One Wisdom Abbey, Assistant Headmaster of Kpedze Senior High School, who is holding himself out as Togbe Attia Yao VII a divisional chief of Awudome-Bame, is never recognized as chief of Bame because he has not been customarily installed according to tradition as such.

By a copy of this rejoinder the disgranted chiefs must do the right thing by human standard and come out from the dark and see light of wisdom. The Regional Police Commander at Ho and District police Commander at Anuirawase are being notified to keep eyes on the trouble makers since the Awudome community wants to be at peace with herself; this is to nip in the bud the creation of fear and confusion in the area.

We hope you will give this rejoinder the prominence which you gave to that press statement.

Togbega Addai Kwasi Sekpe XII, the president of the Awudome Traditional council and paramount chief of Awudome Traditional Area has NOT and has never been destooled.
