
Accra, July 27, GNA - The board, management and staff of AngloGold Ashanti AGA have expressed their condolence to the Government and People of Ghana on the passing on of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
A statement issued and jointly signed by Mr Tito Mboweni AGA Board Chairman, and Mr Mark Cutifani, the Chief Executive Officer, said the company was saddened by the untimely passing of the late President who had made a great contribution to the development of his country.
“We will always celebrate President Atta Mills' life and the contribution he has made to the democratic Ghana,” it said.
The statement noted that the humility and accessibility the late President Mills displayed during his term as President was matched by the wisdom with which he guided the country and its policies.
“It is a legacy that will always be remembered,” it added.
It expressed the company's deepest sympathy to Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills, the family and the People of Ghana.
President Atta Mills's death occurred at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra on Tuesday afternoon while receiving medical attention after being taken ill a few hours earlier.
