Accra, July 26, GNA - The Nigeria U-20 Women's team, the Falconets beat their Ghanaian counterparts, The Princesses 2-1 in an international friendly on Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The result served a perfect revenge for the Falconets, after they suffered a 3-2 loss to their Ghanaian counterparts in their earlier encounter last Tuesday.

The two matches formed part of preparations by both teams towards their participation at the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan next month.

The Princesses dominated the first half paving the way for Elizabeth Addo to fire home the opener after two minutes.

The game remained balanced with the Nigerians showing an improved performance from the previous clash.

The second half, however, saw the Falconets return a better side exhibiting determination in their play.

Against the run of play, Ebere Orji laid a pass to Desire Oparanozie, who easily headed past Ghanaian goalie Margaret Otoo for the equalizer in the 50th minute.

The equalizer immediately boosted the moral of the Falconets and they pressed further in search of the winner.

It finally came eight minutes from time when Eyebhoria Winifred delivered a deceptive volley after spotting Ghana's substitute goalie Ayishetu Simpson off her line.
